Bonacina

In the post-war period, Albini experimented with the use of simple and low-cost materials, such as rattan. Margherita, 1951, is the first 'legless' armchair of Italian design. Made with a structure composed of sixty canes of Indian cane, four malacca crossbows, and a foam rubber cushion covered with fabric, this creation earned a Gold Medal at the IX Triennale di Milano. It represents one of the milestones of Italian design and one of the most famous creations of the great master of rationalism, Franco Albini, who made it in collaboration with Gino Colombini 1951.
