Created in the 1970s by Oscar Niemeyer and his daughter, Anna Maria, the Alta Armchair is an icon of Brazilian modernist furniture design. Since 2013, the piece has been an original reedition licensed by the Oscar Niemeyer Foundation, the holder of the copyrights, and produced and exclusively commercialized under the ETEL registered trademark. It bears dual certification of origin and authenticity, issued by both the Oscar Niemeyer Foundation and ETEL. The Alta Armchair is defined by a singular, continuous curve that rises from the base to the backrest—the piece’s most striking and defining feature.
